A structured approach to reconnection
Therapy at Mbrase draws on research-based models rather than generic advice. Every relationship gets an assessment, a plan, and a way to track whether things are actually changing — not just talking.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Focused on the attachment needs underneath conflict — helping partners understand what they're each actually reaching for, and how to ask for it directly.
-
Imago Relationship Therapy
Uses structured dialogue to help couples truly hear each other, connecting present-day conflict to old patterns so both partners can respond instead of react.
-
Structural Family Therapy
Looks at the family as a whole system — roles, boundaries, and hierarchy — and works to reorganize the structures that keep a pattern in place.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy
A practical, forward-looking approach that builds on what's already working rather than dwelling on the full history of a problem.
-
ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)
A certified, evidence-based trauma treatment that helps resolve the distress attached to difficult memories, often in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.
Services
Sessions run 50–80 minutes and are available in-person or by telehealth.
Couples Therapy
50 or 80 min sessionsFor partners working through recurring conflict, trust repair, communication breakdowns, or a sense of drifting apart. Sessions combine structured exercises with open conversation, and most couples start weekly before spacing out.
Family Therapy
60 or 80 min sessionsFor families navigating a major transition, a teenager in crisis, blended-family friction, or a pattern that keeps repeating across generations. Sessions can include some or all family members depending on the goal.
Premarital Counseling
6-session structured programA short, focused program for engaged couples covering finances, family, intimacy, and conflict style before the wedding — not after the first real fight.
What working together looks like
Four steps from first contact to ongoing care.
Free consultation call
A 15-minute call to talk through what's going on and whether it's a good fit — no charge, no commitment.
Intake session
A longer first session to map history, goals, and what "better" would actually look like for you.
A working plan
You'll leave the intake with a rough plan: what we're working on, roughly how long it may take, and how we'll check progress.
Ongoing sessions
Regular sessions with periodic check-ins on what's working, what isn't, and whether the frequency still makes sense.

Common questions
Do you take insurance?+
Mbrase is private pay only and does not accept insurance directly. A superbill is provided on request, which you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement — check your plan's out-of-network mental health benefits before booking.
How much does a session cost?+
Session fees are discussed on the free consultation call, based on session type and length. Reach out and we'll walk through it together.
Do both partners need to attend every session?+
Most couples sessions include both partners, but individual sessions are sometimes used to work through something specific before returning to joint sessions.
What if we're not ready for couples therapy yet?+
That's common. The consultation call is a low-pressure way to ask questions first — nothing is decided until you're ready to book an intake.
Is telehealth as effective as in-person sessions?+
Research on telehealth couples and family therapy shows outcomes broadly comparable to in-person care, and many clients prefer the flexibility. Some intake sessions are recommended in-person when possible.
